Brief History of Southern Nevada Transit Coalition
History
The Southern Nevada Transit Coalition (SNTC) was incorporated in June of 2002 as part of the Nevada Department of Transportation’s (NDOT) Public Rural Ride (PRIDE) program. Silver Rider Transit is the organizational branding of the Southern Nevada Transit Coalition (SNTC). The SNTC is a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.
1st Laughlin Office
Our first office was an old jail, 980 sq.ft. 23 employees, and dirt lot to do maintenance on buses.
Ribbon cutting new Laughlin facility
SNTC took occupancy of the Laughlin Transit Maintenance Facility. The SNTC was extremely grateful for all the support our organization received from then U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and then U.S. Congressman Jon Porter, the RTC of Southern Nevada, the Nevada Department of Transportation, the Laughlin Town Manager’s office, Clark County and the Laughlin community.
CTAA Award
SNTC won the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) award for 2013 Rural Transit System of the Year.
